| Aim of the course: | The aim of this course is to provide learners with the knowledge and practical skills needed to assess existing buildings as material banks within the framework of circular construction. Participants will learn how to evaluate the technical condition and reuse potential of building elements, apply appropriate assessment and recertification methods, and use digital tools to document and manage reusable construction materials. The course supports the transition towards resource-efficient and circular building practices. |

| Prerequisites: | Prior knowledge of construction, ≥ EQF level 5 |
| Topics: | * Principles and practices of circular construction and the concept of buildings as material banks. * Assessment of the technical condition and reuse potential of existing buildings and building components. * Methods for testing, evaluating, and recertifying reusable construction elements. * Digital tools and databases for identifying, documenting, and managing reusable building materials. * Practical applications of circular economy principles in the construction sector. |
| Study results: | 1. Understands the concept of circular construction and its current state of development. 2. Assesses the technical condition of existing buildings. 3. Identifies the key properties of existing structural and building envelope elements and analyses their reuse potential by applying appropriate assessment, testing, and recertification methods. 4. Applies digital tools to create databases of reusable building elements. |
