| Aim of the course: | The aim of this workshop is to synthesize and assess the knowledge acquired by students from the six e-courses that make up the Sustainable Renovation and Decarbonisation of Residential Buildings micro-qualification study programme. |
| Target group: | Construction and architecture specialists. |
| Prerequisites: | Successful completion of the online components of all six e-courses that make up the Sustainable Renovation and Decarbonisation of Residential Buildings micro-qualification study programme: • Sustainable urban transformation and climate change; • Renovation of a typical residential building; • Determination of the technical condition of a typical residential building and forecast of the period of use; • Building Carbon Footprint – Theory; • Building Carbon Footprint – Reporting; • Practical digital twins for smart housing and decarbonization; |
| Topics: | The 2-day intensive, on-campus consolidation workshop will take place on either the TalTech or RTU campus as a physical, in-presence event. This capstone component of the Sustainable Renovation and Decarbonisation of Residential Buildings micro-qualification study programme focuses on collaborative problem-solving, hands-on practical applications and thematic discussions to synthesise and apply what has been learnt in all of the six e-courses. The workshop is led by TalTech and RTU experts and it serves as the final, summative assessment component for the micro-qualification. At the end of the workshop, students take a written exam and are assessed on the knowledge they have acquired from the six e-courses and on their ability to synthesise and apply learning from across these in integrated, practice-oriented tasks. |
| Study results: | - synthesizes the knowledge acquired in the e-courses and applies it in solving real-life housing decarbonisation challenges; - understands and communicates effectively on themes of climate change, sustainability, urban transformation, renovation, carbon footprint and digital twins in the context of housing. - evaluates housing scenarios and develops appropriate sustainable urban transformation and renovation solutions. |
