Aim of the course:Life Cycle Assessment Course: To provide fundamental knowledge of Life Cycle Assessment (LCA) and its application in evaluating environmental impacts across a product’s life cycle.
Sustainability Assessment Course: To introduce integrated sustainability assessment across environmental, economic, and social dimensions.
Business Course: To develop knowledge of sustainable business innovation, combining LCA with circular economy principles and product development.
Target group:The course is designed for postgraduate students and industry professionals working in sustainability, environmental management, product development, or related technical and business fields.
Topics:The “LCA Summer School for Professionals” course consists of the following integrated blocks: Life Cycle Assessment, Sustainability Assessment, and Business Course.
Life Cycle Assessment Course: The course covers all LCA stages, including goal and scope definition, data collection, impact assessment, and interpretation, supported by practical exercises and an individual project.
Sustainability Assessment Course: The course covers LCC, S-LCA, and EPDs through case studies, practical exercises, and the use of professional LCA software tools.
Business Course: The course covers business process mapping, circular economy principles, sustainable product design, and business model innovation supported by practical case studies.
Study results:Life Cycle Assessment Course: The student understands LCA methodology and can define, conduct, and interpret an LCA study using appropriate tools.
Sustainability Assessment Course: The student can perform Life Cycle Costing, Social LCA, and interpret Environmental Product Declarations, as well as conduct integrated sustainability assessments.
Business Course: The student can apply process mapping, develop sustainable business models, and design marketing strategies for sustainable products and services.
Comments:The participation fee for the course depends on the specific modules you choose to attend. The “LCA Summer School for Professionals” consists of several components, including Life Cycle Assessment, Sustainability Assessment, and a Business Course, with a total workload of 7 ECTS. Participants may choose to take the online LCA pre-course (2 ECTS), the LCA Basic Course (1 ECTS), and the Sustainability Assessment and Business courses (2 ECTS each).
