Aim of the course: | development of conversational and communicative skills, incl. acquiring courage, fluency and accuracy of language use; expanding topic-related vocabulary | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||

Topics: | Course participants’ speaking and communication skills are developed through conversations, discussions, and debates. Pair- and group-work as well as whole group discussions are conducted. Separate activities are implemented to improve fluency and accuracy. Conversation topics are negotiated with the participants when needs/expectations/ interests analysis has been carried out at the beginning of the course. They may range from everyday and general (daily life, work, studies, etc.) to more abstract and complex topics (science and technology, Artificial Intelligence, etc.). In addition, topic-related vocabulary and language functions (e.g. argumentation, giving opinions, agreeing and disagreeing, asking and answering questions, asking for and giving clarification) are covered and practiced. | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
Study results: | Upon completion of the course, the participant: • communicates in English at minimum B1 level; • participates in conversations, discussions and debates; • can express him/herself fluently when discussing everyday and general topics and fairly fluently when discussing more complex topics; • uses different language functions (e.g. giving opinions, agreeing and disagreeing, asking and answering questions, asking for and giving clarification). | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
