Date:01.10.2026 - 24.01.2027
Aim of the course:The aim of this course is to provide learners with an understanding of information management, digital construction classification systems, and data structuring principles that support smart and sustainable residential buildings. The course equips learners with the knowledge needed to manage and exchange building information effectively, apply classification frameworks and BIM-related concepts, and support data-driven decision-making for building decarbonisation and life-cycle management.
Target group:Construction and Real Estate professionals.
Prerequisites:Prior knowledge of construction, ≥ EQF level 5.
Topics:This course explores how digital technologies, information management, and smart building solutions support the decarbonisation of residential buildings. Participants will learn the principles of information structuring, classification systems, and data exchange, as well as the use of BIM-related concepts for managing building information throughout the life cycle. The course highlights how high-quality, structured data enables more efficient building operation, sustainability assessment, and informed decision-making in the transition to low-carbon housing.
Study results:1. Understand the fundamentals of information management;
2. Explain the concept of the Level of Information Need (LOIN) in the context of information exchange;
3. Explain the role of the Information Delivery Manual (IDM) in defining successful use cases;
4. Explain the framework of construction classification systems;
