| Date: | 01.10.2026 - 24.01.2027 |
| Aim of the course: | The aim of this course is to provide learners with the knowledge and practical skills required to assess, calculate, and report the carbon footprint of buildings throughout their life cycle. Participants will learn how to apply relevant standards and methodologies, analyse environmental data, evaluate the impact of construction materials, and prepare professional carbon footprint reports. The course supports evidence-based decision-making and promotes transparency in sustainable building design and construction. |
| Target group: | Construction and architecture specialists. |
| Prerequisites: | Prior knowledge of construction, ≥ EQF level 5 |
| Topics: | * Introduction to building carbon footprint assessment and life cycle carbon accounting. * Standards, frameworks, and guidelines for building carbon footprint calculation and reporting. * Data collection, quality assessment, and interpretation of environmental data sources. * Environmental impacts of construction materials and their contribution to whole-life carbon emissions. * Methods and tools for calculating and analysing building carbon footprints. * Preparation, interpretation, and presentation of carbon footprint reports in accordance with professional and regulatory requirements. |
| Study results: | Learning Outcomes: 1. Understands the principles and methodologies of building carbon footprint assessment. 2. Applies relevant standards and guidelines for calculating life cycle carbon emissions of buildings. 3. Analyses and interprets data sources to ensure accurate carbon footprint assessment. 4. Evaluates the environmental impacts of key construction materials and their contribution to a building’s overall carbon footprint. 5. Prepares and presents results in a structured report format in accordance with professional requirements. |
